Thank you for your last communication on the above referred matter. I wish to refer to this update as "PHASE ONE". The following individuals form a short list of displaced victims of the Goma Volcano who are living under very hard conditions us here in Uganda.

First family:
Bro.Simon Kibandja Lunemo(Pastor); Sis.S Zawadi(Wife),eight Children;-Ms.Linda-(22),Ms.Ella(19),Mst. Joseph (17),Mst.Daniel(15),Ms.Kihando(13),Ms.Esther (7),Mst.Boaz (3)and Ms.Salem(1).

Second Family:
Bro.Ablatus Lupitshi and Sis. Harriet Wright Lupitshi. No children.

Third Family:
Sis.Mama Elodie( single mother) Five children;Oldest 13 years.

Forth Family:
Sis.Mama Ires ( single Mother). Six children;Two above 10 years and the rest below 10.

Basic Housing:

The city of Kampala and its suburbs perpetually lucks standard residual units/estates for lower middle class housing that should be owned by the City Municipal Council.Residual property is therefore wholly owned by individual land owners.

For our purposes,"an-above-slum condition" shelter in the surbarbs with a small living room, kitchenette, shower-cum-bath,single bedroom and store- with a detouched long-drop all for a family of 6 would cost US$ 84.50 per month.

The above unit can accommodate 4 single men, of course not for permanent stay,say one year tops.
Every effort will be made to encourage the refugees to return home.
For budgetary purposes, here is a "family of 6 sample".

ECONOMIC CONSIDERATIONS:

For many years, Uganda had been ravaged by wars and AIDS/HI V epidemic.There are therefore thousands of opharns as well as helpless old aged persons, more so of greater concern to us, Christian.

In our humble opinion, we envisiege a situation where in the not too distant future it will be prudent to purchase or lease a piece of land and construct a home for the desitutes and the aged.

This will double up us a temporal shelter for the displaced Christian as the Goma case we have been discussing.

Having given you a "6 family budget sample", kindly work out the cost affordable by yourselves with regards to wholly or part of the list given as you may find suitable.
